Overview

This tour is for the adventurous at heart who long to get off the beaten track and will surely not dissapoint you. A great deal of fitness is required for this tour as it involves a lot of jungle trekking and involves climbing over tree roots, sharp jagged limestone rocks and aluminium ladders as you ascend Mount Api where the limestone pinnacles so famous in Mulu can be found.

Swim at the clear water springs close after a refreshing picnic at the Clearwater summer hut.
Observe bats in their natural habitat as they swarm out of their caves in the evening (weather permitting)
Immerse yourself in the cultural lifestyle of the Penan people.
Discover exotic plants, insects and wildlife in Borneo's virgin jungles.

Day 1: Mulu - Mulu National Park

Meet at Mulu airport and transfer to National Park for check-in. In the afternoon, meet and proceed on plank walk for 3 Km to reach Deer Cave & Lang Cave. After exploring the caves, proceed to bats observatory to observe bats flying out of caves entrance at late evening (Only confine to fine weather). Return journey on the same plank walk to park headquarters and transfer back to Mulu National Park headquarters. Overnight at Mulu National Park HQ.

Day 2: Mulu National Park - Long Litut - Camp 5

Breakfast and transfer by longboat proceed to Batu Bungan - Penan Settlement, to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement. Continue journey by longboat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. Picnic lunch at Clearwater summer huts and relax for a while then continue journey by longboat to Long Litut. Then jungle trek for 3 hours to Camp 5. Dinner and overnight at Camp 5.

Day 3: Camp 5 - Gunung Api - Camp 5

Breakfast at Camp 5. After breakfast ascend to Gunung Api for 3 hours to view the magnificent Pinnacles. During the climb you will see many species of plants, all types of insects within this virgin jungle of Borneo. Pack lunch will be serve at the observatory point. After lunch descend to Camp 5. Dinner and overnight at Camp 5.

Day 4: Camp 5 - Long Litut - Transfer out

Breakfast at Camp 5 and jungle trek to Long Litut and transfer to Clearwater summer hut for picnic lunch and later on you can enjoy swimming at the clear water spring. Transfer by longboat to Mulu airport for flight to next destination.
