TREKS IN KALIMANTAN
The Indonesian region of Kalimantan (often referred to as Indonesian Borneo) is covered to a large extent by water in the form of rivers and swamps, as well as having a number of mountain chains – the highest being the Schwaner Mountains at 2278 metres. We have treks in Kalimantan of varying duration available, however, due to the type of terrain being covered, most of the tours also include travel on the water – by boat, raft and/or canoe.
CROSSING KALIMANTAN EAST TO WEST

You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness for this tour, which includes 7 days of trekking.
Day 1
BALIKAPAPAN, SAMARINDA, LOA JANAN, MAHAKAM
Upon arrival at Sepinggan International Airport of Balikpapan of East Borneo meet and assist to proceed to houseboat in Loajanan. All the rest day and night cruise up to Muara Muntai. Meals and overnight on boat.[includes Lunch and Dinner]
Day 2 to Day 3
MUARA MUNTAI, MANCONG, LONG IRAM
Breakfast on boat then visiting wooden village of Muara Muntai, to observe the activities of the people life on bank of Mahakam River, such as floating shop, house, etc, then continue the trip by canoe over Lake Jempang passing fisher village of Jatur Toi reach Mancong pass trough small river to observe wild life such as proboscis monkeys, snake, birds, etc. On arrival welcome ceremony by Dayak Banuaq tribe in front of long house then back to house boat and cruise up to Long Iram. Day 4
LONG IRAM – LONG BANGUN
Breakfast on boat then continue the trip by long boat to Long Bnagun which is the last village to start of adventure. But, the trip can be stopped at Datah Bilang or Rukun Damai to observe Dayak tribe with long ears. Meals and overnight at local house. Losmen. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 5
LONG BANGUN – TIONG OHANG
Breakfast at Losmen then starting your adventure to Long Pahangai passing trough the wild rapid of huge Mahakam River, may overnight will be done on tent on beach. This the real fantastic views due the primary rain forest and wild rapids of the Mahakam River. Meals provided. Overnight on tent. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 6
TIONG OHANG – THE END OF MAHAKAM RIVER
Breakfast at campsite, then begine your trek to the end of the Mahakam for approximately 3 – 5 hours trekking overnight and also meals on tent. This all the participant will be accompanied with local porter. One porter per person due to the condition of the trekking route. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 7 to Day 13
TIONG OHANG, UP RIVER, TREK
This is about 7 days we will have fantastic trip by jungle trekking to get Putusibau west Kalimantan passing trough the Muller Range as the top of the route to across Borneo.
The journey across the Muller Mountains neither a cultural tour nor a wildlife-spotting expedition. Views of any kind are rare. This is a purpose-driven rainforest trek, and is a difficult one.
The days are long, and often wet. The trek follows a narrow path where possible, through a green maze, with uncertain footing and constant creek crossings. Some could be chest high, depending on water levels at the time. Formal campsites do not exist. Cooking is done over an open fire. There are also many leeches. They are harmless, but their bites easily become infected in the damp environment.
The experience has not changed very much since George Muller first crossed this range in 1825. That first trek ended with the locals cutting off Muller’s head (possibly at the behest of the Sultan of Kutai). That will not happen today.
The Muller Trek has been likened to a horizontal Everest. It is tackled for the same reasons people climb mountains – when you succeed, it is both a lifetime memory and an achievement of note.

TANJUNG LOKAN – PUTUSIBAU
In the morning after breakfast, a ful day trip downstream on Bongan River by long boat proceed to Putusibau. In the Bongan River you will once again have to negotiate wild rapids. Overnight at local houseboat. Meals provided. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 15
PUTUSIBAU
In the morning sightseeing in town, afterwards by bus drive to Sintang. Meals provided en route and overnight at guest house. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 16
SINTANG, PONTIANAK
In the morning free program, afterwards by bus proceed to Pontianak. Overnight at a good hotel. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 17
PONTIANAK, AIRPORT
Free at leisure until departure time of you flight for your next destination. [includes Breakfast]

JUNGLE TREKKING, SOUTH KALIMANTAN – MERITUS MOUNTAIN

Day 1
ARRIVAL IN BANJARMASIN

BANJARMASIN-KIYO-MERATUS MOUNTAIN (CAMP I)
Transfer to Kiyo, village at the foot of Meratus mountain. Next, trekking in Meratus mountain crossing hills, forest, traditional farmland, etc. Lunch will be provided en route, dinner and overnight at bivouac/tent (camp I). [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 3
CAMP I-DATAR ALAI-JUMANTIR
Trekking to Mount Tiranggang for about three hours, then take a rest. Next, trekking to Sungai Karuh waterfall, then continue our trip by hiking to Jumantir, at the foot of Mount Besar. Day 4
JUMANTIR-MOUNT BESAR PEAK

Day 5
MOUNT BESAR-SUNGAI KARUH

Day 6
SUNGAI KARUH-MUHARA MALIAU

Day 7
MUHARA MALIAU-TEMBATANG-KADAYANG

Day 8
KADAYANG-LOKSADO-MUARA HATIP

BAMBOO RAFTING-BANJARMASIN
Exploring villages in making the bamboo raft then take an adventure trip of bamboo rafting crossing beautiful panorama of tropical rainforest along the riverside, the bus will wait on the downstream for transferring to Banjarmasin, overnight at hotel. [includes Breakfast and Lunch]

Day 3
RIMBA – PONDOK TANGGUI – PESALAT

Day 4
PESALAT – RIMBA LODGE

Day 5
RIMBA – DAYAK VILLAGE
After breakfast sail down to Kumai then drive to Pangkalan Bun harbor stage, then board on speedboat up to lamandau river ( which now can be reach for 4 hours trip by car ). You will cruise the lamandau river with many rapid and passed many dayak house wa up river. After dinner one of traditional instrument are displayed to call local people come to longhouse. You will be welcomed by traditional dance called “ Hornbill dance “ and you will have traditional wine called “ Tuak “ overnight at longhouse. [includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner]
Day 6
DAYAK VILLAGE – HOTEL PANGKALAN BUN

ORANG-UTAN AND JUNGLE TREKKING

Day 1
PANGKALANBUN – LODGE
Upon arrival at Pangkalanbun meeting services and proceed to Kumai River for 2 hours cruise to Lodge.

Day 2
LODGE – PONDOK TANGGUI – JUNGLE TREKKING
Breakfast at Lodge then 1 hour cruise to Pondok Tanggui for II state to observe feeding time at 07.00 hrs by short trekking, afterwards continue jungle trekking. In the jungle you will accompanied by local guide and porters to carry your luggage, this trek will be 22 km, through tropical peat swamp forest.

Day 3
LODGE – PESALAT – CAMP LEAKY
Breakfast at Camp then visiting Pesalat area the rehabilitation of reforestation, this area have been developed for re-introducing the rain forest and reintroduction of the orang utans especially for the babies of orang-utans, afterward cruise up to Camp Leaky for observe feeding time at 14.00 hrs then down river to Rimba Lodge.
