Day 1

On arrival in Kota Kinabalu, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation at Tanjung Aru Resort. Remainder of day at leisure.

Day 2

Morning departure from your hotel to Mengkabong Water Village which lies only minutes from where you are staying. Make a stop at the village to explore a little and to take photos. From Menkabong, proceed to the village of Tuaran. You will spend some time in the central market and the fish market.

Walk across the suspension bridge (the longest in Sabah) nearby and if weather permits, cycle (optional) through villages, orchards and rubber plantation. Have tea or coffee break at a local village. You can have an optional foot massage (at a surcharge) at the society for the blind centre. This is an opportunity to soothe tired legs and to contribute to the visually impaired. Transfer back to hotel in Kota Kinabalu where you should arrive in time for lunch.

Day 3

Depart early morning for a 2.5 hour journey to Kudat, the land of the last longhouses in Sabah. After lunch, we set off our journey to Tanjung Sempang Mengayau, on the Kudat peninsula, which is the "Northern Tip of Borneo". Witness the picturesque view of South China Sea meeting the Sulu Sea.

Proceed to our overnight guesthouse for check in. If weather permits, cycle (optional) through scenic villages, oil palm estates and farms to Mompilis Village Longhouse. Enjoy fresh coconut drink and witness cultural activities while mingling with the friendly local folks and children.

Return to longhouse homestay for shower. Enjoy a traditional-style dinner followed by colourful cultural performance by the local Rungus community. Overnight in twin share room. Mattress and mosquito net are provided. (BLD)

Day 4

Wake up to the calls of roosters and enjoy the tranquility of the village. Take your breakfast before we trek to the nearby rubber estate. Test your skill at rubber tapping. Return to Kota Kinabalu with lunch en route. You will be transferred to the Rasa Ria Resort for the remainder of your stay. (BL)

At leisure - accommodation at Rasa Ria Resort (Breakfast every day)

Day 7

At leisure until your departure to the airport for your flight to the next destination. (B)

Alternatives to this tour allow you to stay at the Kudat Golf and Marina Resort instead of the longhouse, and for departures on Sundays, to include the Buffalo market and local Tamu (market) at Kota Belud, the home of the Bajau tribe. Surcharges apply. Please contact us for further details.
