ULU TEMBURONG NATIONAL PARK ECO ADVENTURE TRIP

Ulu Temburong National Park is preserved for scientific research, wildlife and visitors. This two night programme at the National Park gives time to explore, relax, and experience dawn and dusk, when the wildlife is more active, and the environment has it's unique colours and sounds.

Our experienced guides can vary the programme to suit your preferences and abilities.

Depart from Bandar Seri Begawan by local water taxi to Bangar town at approximately 14.00 hrs., through a network of rivers and channels around the back of Brunei Bay: watch for wildlife along the way. Afternoon tea, and programme briefing at a restaurant in Bangar.

In the late afternoon, depart by longboat up through the rapids as the afternoon shadows fall and when animals and birds become more active. Stop along the way if time permits. Look for Hornbills, butterflies, Proboscis Monkeys, Macaques and other wildlife. See Durian and other fruiting trees. On arrival at approximately 17.00 hrs, settle into your accommodation and enjoy the twilight from the elevated walkways. There is an optional night walk in the forest (at a surcharge)

 

Next morning explore further upstream, to Sungai Apan. Walk along creeks to jungle waterfalls, swim in crystal clear pools, and listen to the jungle sounds. Ride the Rapid Riders (heavy duty air mattresses - optional extra charge Bn$15 per adult) downstream through the rapids to the National Park Centre; or take the longboat.

Lunch, explore the walkways, swim and relax. Optional sunset at Canopy Walkway (weather permitting).

Next morning, rise early (05.00 hrs!!)  to walk the 1200 steps to the Canopy Walkway, and enjoy a panoramic view of dawn -  from within and above the trees, as the jungle comes alive. Watch for Hornbills, butterflies, Proboscis Monkeys, Macaques and others. There is time to stay longer at the Canopy Walkway if desired. Return to your accommodation for breakfast.

 

The trip downstream is by longboat and/or Rapid Riders (optional extra). Stop at some rapids to shoot them on the Rapid Riders. Drift with the current, listen to the jungle sounds, and watch for birds and other wildlife.

Clean up at  Bangar restaurant and lunch in the air-conditioned dining area. Visit the handicraft shops if time permits -  then return to Bandar Seri Begawan by water taxi, arriving about 14.15 hrs.
